Project: 50' sailing yacht
A stern hatch that no single mould could produce: re-modelled in five components, 3D printed with NUGAE's patented internal grid structure and reinforced with glass fibre on both faces. Two hundred and forty centimetres, 18 kg, 20 hours of printing, twice as fast as milling.
Custom design with complex geometries cannot be made with a single mould. A single unit, complex to build and no economies of scale in production.
Extreme precision and adherence to the original design; stiffness, easy to laminate, sand and paint.
Re-modelling, re-design and calculations per element in 5 components. Perfect match with the design provided by the customer, structurally strengthened by internal 3D printed grid structure, using a patented procedure and reinforced by application of glass fiber on both sides.
No use of moulds; 2 times faster than milling; greater stiffness and strength; material is easier to cover, laminate and paint; greater handling of the piece thanks to drastic weight reduction; minimization of waste, lower environmental impact and improvement of the performance of the production process in terms of economic and environmental sustainability.
